Generator hookups and outage repairs

Each of these starts with a photo and a visit. None has a posted price, because the panel and the wall decide it.

  • Portable generator inlet

A weatherproof inlet box on the outside wall, in 30 or 50 amp to match your generator, wired to a transfer switch for the circuits you pick.

    • Furnace, fridge, well pump, a few lights

    • You plug the generator in; no cords through a window

    Portable inlets
  • Panel interlock

A sliding plate on your main panel that lets a generator feed it only when the utility main is off.

    • Kits are made for particular panels; we check yours first

    • You choose which breakers to run

    Interlocks
  • Standby generator hookup

The electrical side of a permanent generator: the pad circuit, the automatic transfer switch, the permit and the inspection.

    • A gas fitter runs the gas line

    • Buy the generator from the dealer you choose

    Standby hookups
  • Well pump and furnace circuits

A dedicated circuit for the pump or the furnace, with a way to feed it from a generator.

  • Service mast and meter base

Ice and falling trees pull masts off houses. We repair the mast and meter base, pull the permit and set up the utility's reconnect.

    The steps
  • A generator check before winter

We run your portable generator under load through the inlet and write down what it carried.
